Ever since the military intervention of the IFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1995, the German Federal Armed Forces in a number of foreign missions is a regular strong. Since then, their duties have changed fundamentally in the context of peace missions. Among the stakes not only in the Balkans, but also in the DR Congo, Afghanistan and, more recently off the coast of Lebanon. The (post) conflictive structures and experience in the production of public security, the rebuilding of civil society and business in Lebanon, in the DR Congo and in the Successor republics of Yugoslavia are similar in some respects. found in all countries and there were civil wars that tore the well-functioning multi-religious and multi-ethnic societies. For a peacekeeping mission, this means a specific approach that responds sensitively and sustainably to structural conflicts. At the same time this also means that civilian actors are involved in the reconstruction of civil society and the economy, without which a lasting peace is not possible.
The conference 'actors of peace? " is the involvement of different perspectives, by military, civilian, government, non-governmental and economic Actors will be discussed to what extent the structures and processes from the three countries are similar and which lessons learned can be learned. In particular, the comparative perspective is to open the conference for interested parties and experts from various fields, which will become a forum for dialogue to be created.
The conference is due to the cooperation between the Evangelical Studies Villigst , and the network created LIPA .
