International Week on 'memory' in Srebrenica

the Alexander Langer Foundation from Bolzano (Italy), in cooperation with the organization "Tuzlanska Amica" from Tuzla (Bosnia Herzegovina) the project "Adopt Srebrenica by. This project has long term building a cross-cultural center in Srebrenica, the goal of which include the function of an international research, documentation and education center for conflict management, analysis, prevention and processing should meet. This is a contribution to confidence-building, intercultural dialogue and build a peaceful coexistence in Srebrenica in Bosnia be provided.

In this project, the Alexander Langer Foundation and organize Tuzlanska Amica from 27.08 to 09.01.2007 an international week on the theme "Remembrance" in Srebrenica. This week, the dialogue, open to the participation of representatives of institutions, researchers, journalists, artists, students and interested parties are numerous Iniziative and events held around the theme of memory: a round table of local and international experts, public presentations, seminars, workshops, concerts, exhibitions, theater and film screenings.

aim of the event is to make it, with the involvement of the inhabitants of Srebrenica, a constructive contribution to a discussion of "memory" in Srebrenica. The concept of the event is, inter alia, in Srebrenica experiences and examples from the international space to address present or that a particular point of similarity and have similarities with the story of Srebrenica. The week as a space for a personal experience and exchange of ideas between international and local participants to find, not least the goal, interested partner for the realization of the long-term project goal.
